Fire Protection Knowledge and Regulations for EPE Foaming Workshop

A.It is strictly forbidden to wear shoes with metal nails to enter the workshop, so as to avoid sparks caused by friction between the nails and the ground, causing combustion and explosion.     

B.Workers in the workshop must wear cotton-based clothes, because the weather is dry in winter, the friction of polyester and acrylic clothes can easily generate static electricity and cause sparks, causing combustion and explosion.

C.Fireworks are strictly prohibited within 20 meters of the production workshop.

D.The production workshop must be equipped with ventilation equipment and install more than two exhaust fans. The floor of the workshop must be higher than the floor of the plant area to facilitate the discharge of butane gas. The floor should be made of terrazzo material that is not easy to generate sparks. Special attention should be paid to the fact that the weather in winter is relatively cold, doors and windows are closed tightly, and the concentration of butane gas is relatively high, which is prone to danger. The indoor ventilation equipment must be turned on regularly to reduce the concentration of butane gas. Once a serious leakage of butane gas is found, the ventilation equipment should be opened quickly, and it is strictly forbidden to pull the switch (to avoid sparks).

E.Frequently check whether the wiring screws of electrical components are loose, and tighten them in time if they are loose. Often check the butane gas cylinder, butane pump inlet and outlet, pipe joints and other parts for damage and leakage so that we can repair or replace them to prevent serious consequences. The equipment requires that the main engine, main electric cabinet, air pump, additive pump, and each auxiliary machine must be connected with grounding wires.

F.When installing the main power switch of the equipment, it must be installed outside the workshop, and an air switch must be used (never use knife switch).

G.Butane gas cylinders must be installed outside the workshop, but they cannot be exposed to sun exposure. And avoid collision in order to avoid explosion.

H.Lighting requirements: explosion-proof lights must be installed to avoid sparks.

I.Nitrogen release method for butane cylinder: 

a. First put the nitrogen in the butane cylinder into the empty bottle, and then move the nitrogen cylinder to a spacious and ventilated place to release it.

b.Connect the butane cylinder to the hose and put nitrogen into the water bucket.

J.Shutdown regulations: Follow the shutdown sequence, and then close the inlet and outlet valves of the air pump and the inlet and outlet valves of the butane cylinder. 

K.The workshop should be equipped with fire extinguishers, and the staff must be able to use fire extinguishers.
