The workshop temperature of the EPE extruding line needs to be at least 15 degrees Celsius, which is not reachable in winter in many places of the world.
Therefore, when winter comes, most EPE factories in northern China will shut down for some time. The factories that are still producing without stopping have heating system in the workshop, or there is a greenhouse around the workshop, and the epe products are put into the greenhouse immediately after they are made to avoid shrinking due to the cold weather. The products stay in the greenhouse for about 2 to 3 days for secondary foaming. After they are stable, they can be taken out and put in the warehouse.
So how to maintain the EPE extruding line that doesn’t work in winter? As a professional epe machine manufacturer, I summarize it as the following:
1. Clean the machine, and check whether the electricity wires are exposed.
2. Check the parts which need to be filled with gear oil such as reducer, motor, hydraulic station, etc. If they are short of oil, fill them.
3. Empty the water in the water cooling part of the screw.There is a water bag made of cast iron on the screw under the feeding hopper. The water is to help ensure the stable temperature during production. During the cold weather, if the water is not drained, the water will be frozen and the water bag will be cracked.
4. If the water bag has been cracked, then you have to empty the water and weld the crack. Attention: when using tools for welding, there are sparks, make sure there are no flammable materials around to avoid fire and damage.
