The key steps of making degreasing EPE sheet
Degreasing EPE sheet is also called wax-free EPE sheet or oil-free EPE sheet. The way of making such sheet is different from that of making normal EPE sheet. During the process of making degreasing EPE sheet, no GMS (monoglyceride) is added.
When you make such EPE sheet, you should pay attention to the following points:
1. Temperature.
The machine temperature to make degreasing EPE sheet should be about 3-6 degrees lower than normal EPE sheet. The reason why some manufacturers can’t make good degreasing sheet is that they didn’t set the temperature right.
2. Use talcum powder instead of talcum master batch.
3. When the sheet is extruded out of the mould, the hauling speed should be a little bit slow. Make sure the humidifier and static electricity eliminator is on. The most difficult part to make degreasing sheet is at the beginning of the process. If the sheet keeps breaking, it is easy to catch fire.
4. The sheet length of each roll can’t be too long. Because the degreasing EPE sheet has no GMS, and the speed of making thin sheet is fast, the friction of hauling machine will make static electricity which is the reason to catch fire. So the length of each roll can’t be too long.
5. The suitable machine model for 0.5-3mm thick EPE degreasing sheet is model 90 and 105.
